Romanian Gendarmerie is specialized institution of the state, military status, the Ministry of Administration and Interior, to exercise, under the law, what duties incumbent on the defense of public order and peace, fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens, public property and private, to prevent and discover crime and other violations of the laws in force and the protection of the fundamental institutions and combating acts of terrorism.
     Romanian Gendarmerie, the responsibilities, organization, training and territorial layout helps to ensure sovereignty, independence, authority, unity and state security, constitutional democracy on the entire national territory for both peacetime and in crisis situations.

     Military Unit 0681 Pitesti Gendarmerie was founded in 1990 as a squadron of gendarmes, becoming Gendarme Command Judetean Arges entry into force of Law 116/1998 on the organization and functioning of the Romanian Gendarmerie, and with the entry into force of Law no. 550 of 2004 on the organization and functioning of the Romanian Gendarmerie, Gendarmerie Command of Arges County and changed its name in the Inspectorate of Gendarmes Arges County, with the present composition in a special security squad and intervention pipeline transport oil products, a mobile squad, 4 squads of institutional security and protection, a subunit of command.
